University of Florida in Gainesville, FL is seeking an Associate Research Scientist for a non-tenure accruing faculty position that will be 10% teaching (College of Agricultural and Life Sciences) 15% extension (Florida Cooperative Extension Service) and 75% research (Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences), available in the Food and Environmental Toxicology Lab in the Food Science and Human Nutrition Department of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Florida. This assignment may change in accordance with the needs of the unit.
Duties will include: coordination of all field projects in the IR-4 Southern Region including Magnitude of Residue (MOR) field trials, and efficacy and crop safety trials and additional responsibilities as listed in the IR-4 Handbook. The faculty member will seek contract and grant funding actively to support the IR-4 Southern Region program. The faculty member will engage in Outreach and Extension activities in his or her program area helping specialty crop growers and commodity groups in the Southern region and the position will have classroom teaching/outreach responsibilities related to Integrated Pest Management and Pesticide Regulation.
The successful candidate will engage in scholarly activities related to instruction, including teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, seeking funding for the teaching program, supervising undergraduate and graduate research and creative work, publishing teaching-related scholarship, producing learning tools, and engaging in professional development activities related to teaching. Faculty are encouraged to support and participate in the CALS Honors Program, distance education, and international education. Incumbent will provide classroom/laboratory instruction on Pesticide application and regulation on specialty crops and classroom/laboratory instruction on research techniques used to analyze pesticide residues to graduate and undergraduate students.
An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Entomology (foreign equivalent acceptable) or a closely related agricultural discipline with significant field experience and some lab experience is required. Candidate is expected to have a strong background in agriculture production (fruits, vegetables, ornamentals etc.) with an emphasis in pest control methods and general agricultural field procedures including protocol review and knowledge of spray calibrations etc. Candidate must possess current GLP training, have experience in Field Book Quality Control review, budgeting and contract negotiating and should be experienced in generating, revising and following SOPs.
Salary is $70,000, work schedule is M-F, 8-5.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
