Education:
Must posses a bachelor degree in medical technology or AS in Medical Technology clinical laboratory science, or in a related science, and completion of a medical technology clinical practice program.
Both the education and clinical practice program must have been approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
Qualifications:
1.
Be Certified as Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist given by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Registry (ASCP:
BOR), the National Credentialing Agency (NCA), American Association of Clinical Chemists (AACC), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or American Association of Bio:
Analysts (AAB).
2.
The qualifications of all personnel shall be subject to review by the VA Chief of Path and Lab Medicine Service and approval by the VA Facility Director.
Experience.
Minimum of one year of relevant work experience required.
b.
A full, current, and unrestricted ASCP or NCA certification to practice medical technology in a state, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Must have no physical condition that prohibits standing or ability to lift up to 30 nds.
g.
Must be able to work without direct supervision.
h.
Must be able to work independently in a laboratory environment.
j.
The contractor employee will document patient care to comply with all VA and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
As VA routinely reviews and updates policies and procedures covering contractor computer access, this contract may be modified to reflect new policies and procedures implemented during the term of this agreement.
l.
The services to be performed by the contractor will be in accordance with VA policies and procedures and the regulations of the medical staff by laws of the VA facility.
m.
Relationships with management, co:
workers, patients, and the general public are consistently courteous, respectful, and cooperative in nature.
Incumbent will display a cooperative attitude and will effectively work together to implement the organization's mission and goals.
Incumbent will ensure productivity is maintained at the established level for the program for which he/she is responsible.
