Overview:
Broadcast IT Engineers are responsible for the technical operation, installation, upkeep and maintenance of all Golf Channel Servers, IP based platforms, IP Networking, IP based workflows, Non-Linear edit systems and digital storage, Graphics storage systems and Broadcast IT systems and their related technology.
Job
Responsibilities:
Evaluate, support and maintain all broadcast based platforms including IT network infrastructure using Fiber Channel, Gigabit Ethernet, 100baseT, and related transport protocols.
Evaluate and maintain encoding, transcoding, archiving, and file replication systems.
Install upgrades to all operating systems, applications, hardware and media storage devices.
Perform software updates to related Unix, Linux, Windows and Mac OS systems.
Repair and maintain Mac and PC based platforms including Workstations, Laptops and Servers Monitor the overall health of the network and IP based platforms and solve problems as needed.
Maintain all required logs and fill out all required forms.
Perform routine maintenance and other duties as needed.
Evaluate and resolve technical issues as they occur.
Perform any and all duties as assigned and required by Golf Channel engineering management QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Minimum Requirements:
2 years experience or the equivalent in a broadcast IT facility utilizing PC or Mac hardware, software, Windows and or Mac OS, Linux or Unix open source applications.
Associates degree or above in either CIT, IT, Computer Science or the demonstrated equivalent work experience.
Proficient in Windows and or Mac OS infrastructure Proficient in A/V file transcoding, data archiving processes and MPEG Compression Technologies.
Proficient with IT routers, firewalls, and port management applications.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching CCIE Routing & Switching - CCDE - CCIE Security CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician Microsoft Security and Microsoft Certifications Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills.
Must be willing to work in Orlando, FL Must be willing to submit to a background investigation Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States Must be 18 years or older Source:
