00/HR Position Summary The Gainesville Opportunity Center (GOC) is a non-profit that helps adults living with chronic mental illness rejoin the community through work, education, and socialization.
The GOC in partnership with United Way of North Central Florida is seeking to hire a driver to provide transportation services for the Members of our Clubhouse.
The driver's main responsibility will be to safely transport Clubhouse Members to and from the Clubhouse, medical appointments, and social events, etc.
in a timely manner.
In doing so, they must follow traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring there is enough fuel to reach all destinations.
In addition to driving, the person in this role will assist Clubhouse Members and staff with program needs, such as transportation grant reporting, planning and scheduling rides for Members, and other duties as assigned.
The GOC operational hours are from 8:
30 am - 4:
30 pm.
The primary need for driving services are between the hours of 10 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday, but may change to meet the needs of Clubhouse Members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Transport persons and/or packages to and from destinations Arrive at destinations on schedule Fulfill administrative needs including mileage and maintenance logs, and driving requests Use navigation applications to determine the best route Interact with Clubhouse Members and community partners professionally at all times Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled, clean and ready for use Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed For this role you will need:
At least 1 year of similar work experience Excellent time management and organizational skills Must have a driving record with no major moving violations in the last 3 years Must have your own car, license, valid registration, and valid insurance Must pass a level 2 background check Must be 18 years or older The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
