LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is currently seeking an individual to join our team as a Cord Blood Processor in Gainesville, FL. This position is responsible for tasks related to the safe handling, documentation and manufacturing of cord blood products and training. This position is also responsible for carrying out cord blood policies and procedures for filing, organizing and maintaining donor records and conducting routine communication activities with collection facilities, regional and laboratory staff as well as with cord blood registries.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
Comply with relevant federal and state laws and regulations regarding confidentiality and privacy of health information
Receive and perform daily morning assessing tasks of collected cord blood units (CBUs)
Accurately maintain donor and CBU records, including compiling and reviewing CBU records for accuracy and completeness, updating all applicable logs, performing registration of cord blood donors, performing and recording any required QC or maintenance procedures and participating in quality-management activities
Perform submission of maternal sample tubes
Interface daily with regional collections staff to provide collection and processing statistics, collection facility training trends and abnormalities associated with collections
Maintain cord blood equipment including, but not limited to, liquid nitrogen storage tanks, cord blood
processing equipment and temperature monitoring equipment
Maintain stock of supplies essential to job function
Work with Corporate Quality Assurance Coordinators to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations for equipment and testing procedures
Represent and communicate Cord Blood and LifeSouth favorably to the public and to the participating institutions
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license. Must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
Exceptional communication skills
Strong interpersonal and team-building skills
Positive and outgoing attitude with excellent customer service skills
Ability to follow moderately complex oral and written instructions
Proficient in the variety of computer software applications
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 50 pounds
Must be able to work a varied schedule including some weekends
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience working in a blood bank or transplant center performing donor collection, accessioning, processing, storage and/or distribution functions
Knowledge of medical terminology
Strong attention to detail

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
