Responsibilities:
Perform quarterly facility walk thru inspections and submit work orders to correct maintenance deficiencies and/or notify department heads of unsatisfactory conditions.
Ensure all life safety reports (Fire Drills, NFPA 110, NFPA 25, NFPA 72) are up to date and on file in the Life Safety office to ensure compliance with applicable safety codes and authorities having jurisdiction.
Work with Department Heads to develop department-specific Emergency Management training on an annual basis.
Works with Quality Management and Training staff to ensure Emergency Management training results are up to date and available for regulatory review.
Assist the Emergency Management Coordinator to ensure the Tacachale Emergency Management plan is updated and submitted to Alachua County for approval on an annual basis.
Serves as the backup Health Facility Reporting System Coordinator.
Accompany the Agency for Health Care Administration Life Safety Inspector(s) during annual Facilities survey recertification.
Submit work orders as needed to correct deficiencies and/or notify Facility Management of any unsatisfactory condition.
Coordinate required fire alarm and other functional tests and assists with practice drill evacuations.
Review fire and life safety systems with Fire Marshal's office and local inspectors to ensure legal and safe systems.
Maintain appropriate records as required.
Attend regular staff meetings of the Life Safety Division and participate in problem-solving and discussions of system and project-related issues.
Serve on the Safety Committee and report findings of building inspections.
Follow-up on inspections performed by contractors to ensure recommendations/findings are acted upon.
Accompany the State Fire Marshal in fire safety inspections.
Submit work orders as needed to correct deficiencies and/or notify Facility Management of any unsatisfactory condition.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
