Job Description:
The Community Assistant position within Housing & Residence Life is required to live on-campus as a resident in in the area they serve.
Position specific responsibilities for the Community Assistant include:

Be available to the residents in the assigned residential area for the purpose of assisting with residents personal concerns and problems, which includes acting as a referral agent in acquainting residents with all resources, services and facilities on the campus.

Assist in planning and implementing social, educational and recreational programs both individually and collaboratively (internally and with external partners)
Assist with Graduate and Family Housing wide events as directed
Responsible for maintaining Village office shift as scheduled
Review and respond to emails, as needed, each day
Assist with training student Desk Assistants or peers as directed
Attend regularly scheduled meetings and trainings
Provide staff presence, visibility and intentionality in community enhancement
Maintain knowledge of and implement Housing & Residence Life protocols and procedures
Consistently enforce UF Student Code of Conduct and Community Standards reporting observed violations through appropriate channels.

Assist in conflict resolution among residents by educating residents about housing policies and the conduct process
Serve in an on-call capacity as assigned by supervisor; complete all administrative tasks as required including but not limited to documentation associated with apartment readiness checks, move-out inspections, breezeway inspections, public area inspections, inventories, checklists, iService requests, etc.

Create a residential environment that is inclusive to all resident identities; report and confront issues of bias and less-inclusive behavior, and encourage residents to utilize campus resources Expected Salary:
A stipend in the amount of $11,100 for a 12-month appointment.
Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS).
Registered students are employed on a part-time basis and must be available for 20-hours per week.

Enrolled as a full-time student in good standing as defined by the University at the time of employment which includes a successful conduct/honor code review.

Individuals committed to facilitating interaction among students, faculty, and staff representative of UFs diverse community
Successful candidates will have a minimum one semester experience at the University of Florida in Gainesville
Ability to solve problems and a desire to help others
Demonstrated time management and leadership skills
Demonstrated attention to professionalism, dependability, and timeliness
