The position of Member Services Operations Specialist is highly responsible professional work requiring thorough knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements for municipal natural gas systems; in-depth knowledge of design, construction, maintenance and operations of municipal natural gas systems; good knowledge of the general principles as applied to the planning and development of municipal natural gas systems; thorough knowledge of safety requirements and precautions; ability to interact well with the public, City officials, and regulatory agency representatives; ability to understand, explain, and carry out complex oral and written directions; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; initiative and resourcefulness; good professional judgment; represents the Company and performs tasks that benefit Members under the general supervision of the Member Services Manager.
Position
Summary:
Liaison between FGU and its Members.
Assists with Membership expansion and Customer additions.
Performing services (operational assistance, project management, sales & marketing, etc.
) for Members and Customers.
Maintains a thorough understanding of PSC requirements.
Assists with on-site inspection, problem resolution, on-site coordination, and project management during construction activities.
Assists in sales & marketing program implementation, establishing a dealer network, approaching new (commercial) customers, builder agreements, training staff, and tracking program progress.
Develops and maintains manuals for Members (including Operations & Maintenance, Operator Qualifications, Emergency Response Plan, Distribution Integrity Management Plan, DOT Drug & Alcohol Plan, Construction Manual).
Assists with training/implementation of Members' manuals/plans.
Performs test audits for Members in preparation of their annual PSC audit.
Provides operational assistance to Members, including but not limited to EIA reports, PHMSA reporting, and other operational compliance questions Assists in evaluating plans, cost estimates and specifications for construction, extensions and improvements for Member systems.
Performs a variety of administrative and technical tasks in relation to the activities of Members.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Associate of Arts or Science degree and one (1) year experience in natural gas operations practices; or a combination of education and experience which results in equivalent qualifications.
Additional
Qualifications:
Considerable knowledge of natural gas operational principles and practices, good interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent program.
Must be willing to travel, sometimes overnight.
Essential Physical Skills and Environmental Conditions Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold and often wet/humid conditions.
Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
Acceptable vision and hearing (with or without correction); Speaking and Office Equipment Operations.
