Responsibilities:
This is work assisting with a variety of nursing services to ensure organization and documentation.
Work is performed under the direction and general supervision of a registered nurse, and is reviewed for compliance, standards and procedures.
Work will include delegated duties within the scope of a non-licensed staff person.
This position ensures proper documentation and maintenance of nursing records.
Primary functional roles:
a.
Assists nurses to ensure organization and efficient provision of services and proper documentation.
b.
Maintains documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures.
c.
Assists nurses with documenting services by transcribing dictated notes.
d.
Maintains work area, medical supplies and equipment, and adheres to infection control policies.
e.
Assists professional nurses with documenting screening procedures.
f.
Assists professional nurses in completing and maintaining medical records and residents' progress.
Secondary roles:
a.
Participates as appropriate in all objectives developed for the individuals assigned.
b.
Works in conjunction with the registered nurse to assure continuity of care and adherence to ICF/DD standards.
c.
Attends interdisciplinary team meetings and special clinics as assigned.
d.
Attends in-service training and participates in continuing education programs for the developmentally disabled person.
e.
Monitors and role-models infection control programs during daily activities.
f.
Adheres to ethical practice standards.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Ability to take dictation and transcribe nursing documentation.
Ability to understand various accents and discern transcribed recordings from nurses who may have English as a second language.
Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques.
Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
Skills in computers, software and information technology.
Ability to understand medical information and communicate technical terms verbally and in writing.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent Work Schedule:
This position is located at a 24- hour facility.
Working hours:
Monday - Friday, from 8:
00 am to 5:
00 pm.
Total hours in workweek 40.
Explain any variation in work (split shift, rotation, etc.
) Rotating days off in accordance with the Florida Nurses Association Contract.
Provides on-call services as required.

This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
