Position Overview Responsible for planning and implementing meal programs as requested by attending physician and modifications to ensure the health and nutrition of the residents in accordance with laws, regulations and facility guidelines.
Basic Qualifications Education and Certification:
BS Degree in Nutritional Services; MS degree preferred; must have current license as a Dietitian within current state and be registered with the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
Skills & Requirements:
Must possess the ability to read, write and speak the English language; must be patient, friendly, courteous and respectful to residents in any situation, including difficult ones; must be able to make independent decisions when necessary; must have the ability to follow dietary department guidelines as outlined by the facility and other regulations governing dietary services in a long-term care facility; must be able to move frequently throughout the workday; must be able to lift 20 lbs floor to waist; lift 10 lbs waist to shoulder; lift and carry 20 lbs; and push/pull 20 lbs.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years dietary experience in health care; prior experience with nutritional planning and implementation.
