Food Service Worker
This position performs a variety of advanced duties related to nutrition and food services.
The work requires a broad knowledge of food services operations and advanced food delivery systems including food preparation, tray assembly, nourishment/snack assembly and delivery, cafeteria style service, diet office communications, dry and refrigerated storage, inventory control, ware washing and sanitation.
Other duties include the following:
o Assembles fruit and salads.
o Portions salads and desserts for regular and modified diet cold food items.
o Sets up the assigned station on the tray line or cafeteria with correct suppliers and food items.
o Delivers labeled individual and bulk nourishment.
o Sets up and operates dish machine, pots and pan sink and other food service equipment.
o Cleans and sanitizes trays, mobile and other stationery equipment.
o Transports loaded food carts to the wards.
o Assists with restocking food for serving line during meal assembly.
o Performs a variety of tasks in the dish room.
o Maintains kitchen clean and in orderly condition.
o Assists in dating and storing delivered supplies/subsistence in appropriate storage areas.
o Assists in maintaining rotation of food inventories to prevent spoilage.
