HVAC Service Manager : Residential Division

POSITION: Service Manager
Residential Division

WORK HOURS (Approximate):
7:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Some overtime, evenings, weekends and light travel as needed.
PAY SCALE:
Negotiable (based on previous education and work experience). This is a job that entails a base salary plus plus a bonus with no cap! We offer a full range of benefits to include medical, dental, disability, paid vacations, life insurance and 401(k).

POSITION
Summary:
In this highly visible role, this individual will be responsible for driving service for our residential and light commercial Heating & Cooling operations. You must be able to evaluate, analyze, and monitor our market area to ensure our service team is meeting objectives and goals. A proven track record and prior Service Management experience in the HVAC industry is a plus Strong people management, interpersonal, public speaking and written communication skills are required.

REQUIRED JOB
Qualifications: (including but not limited to)
Assist management in revenue forecasting for service department.
Update goal boards
Establish budgets and corresponding goals for both the department and individual Service Technicians.
Facilitate training for Customer Service Representatives so that we are sending the right Technician to the right job every time.
Schedule meetings/coaching sessions each week with your service team and with individual Service Technicians.
Recruiting and training of Service Technicians
Actively promote the sale of replacements, service, and all Maintenance Agreement
Plan, coordinate, and direct the overall operation of his/her service department.
Monitor and direct the Maintenance Agreement programs.
Administer Estimating System as well as service time and material reporting systems
Ensure that all local and state codes are properly met
Evaluate the strength of the Service Department and maintain a service workforce consistent with business activity.
Work with all departments to assure customer satisfaction
Appoint, as necessary, lead technicians to assist in field supervision, troubleshooting, and training
Plan and schedule all service work on job sites, coordinating with the original equipment
Schedule and attend training sessions covering all aspects of service operations, including technical and sales training
Assist service technicians and lead technicians with major service problems, when necessary
Stay within budget figures for unapplied labor, tools, warranty, bad debt, and travel time.
Handle customer service complaints in a professional manner with the focus on more than satisfied customers in all decisions
Work with Human Resources to recruit, hire, and train all future service technicians, administer a recruiting program with incentives from within, and oversee placement of related advertising within budget limitations.
Support the other departments with assistance in answering technical questions and recognizing applications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of experience managing or supervising a service organization in the Heating & Cooling industry.
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
