Medical Administration Specialist/Training Coordinator

The Medical Administration Specialist/Training Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Training Coordination (60%) The Medical Administration Specialist/Training Coordinator is aligned under the Data Quality Section of MAS. Plans and coordinates orientation activities for each new MAS employee. Prepares regular education and training reports and distributes to supervisors. Identifies and determines training priorities, conducts and administers training programs, develops and improves training guidance, and conducts classes or other group-setting instruction. Creates training for MAS managers and non-MAS employees, managers and supervisors. Assists employees in achieving mandatory training hours by suggesting job related TMS courses. Scheduling Training (15%) Coordinates and provides Scheduler and Soft skills training for system staff on a bi-weekly and as needed basis in accordance with VHA Directive 1230. This training is not limited to MAS personnel. It includes clinic clerks, health technicians, nurses and clinicians/providers who have been authorized the ability to use Appointment Management and the VISTA Scheduling Enhancement tool (VistA Scheduling Packages). Site Visits (10%) Coordinates with Administrative Officers at Medical Centers, OPC and CBOC locations to develop and administer events on current MAS related topics for a workforce of over 4,868 FTEE. Administrative Functions (10%) Coordinates monthly Data Quality Section staff meetings to include, but not limited to, meeting room reservations and taking and distributing staff meeting minutes. Participates as a member of the local Mock Joint Commission survey team. Participates as a Controlled Substance Inspector (CSI). Assists with disseminating materials and information to MAS employees. Emergency Management (5%) Responsible for participating in emergency management planning activities (disaster drills) conducted at the medical center. Facilitate the role of a runner/escort, tagger, or observer during planned drills. Familiar with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be used during drill activities. Promotion Potential:
The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule:

Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related . The work is primarily sedentary, although some light physical effort may be required. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
