Duties Include:
Uses expert clinical judgment in the delivery of care resulting in a positive impact/improvement at the program and/or service level; guides staff in the implementation of the nursing process and evaluation of patient care outcomes Organizes care delivery in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in a manner that promotes continuity and accountability for patient care Must be innovative and self-directed in developing and implementing complex and sophisticated programs for optimizing patient care and enhanced management of resources Actively participates in the development of Service Line/Service philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures; responsible for assuring that philosophy, objectives and necessary policies and procedures are implemented Proactively implements procedures and monitors compliance by staff members. Initiates and implements corrective actions as indicated Effectively manages assigned resources and identifies creative strategies to increase efficiency within area(s) and program Evaluates unit-based staffing needs in terms of quantity and practice level of personnel required Prepares reports and analyzes data to assure resources are efficiently used, while providing quality care in assigned area(s) Takes a leadership role in providing input and participating in the budgetary process at the area(s) and service level Collaborates with other professionals to participate in recruitment and retention of quality staff Appropriately guides and counsels staff with supervisory consultation Addresses performance issues and conduct problems in a timely manner Completes performance appraisals and proficiency reports in a timely manner allowing for staff participation with the evaluation process, recognizes and rewards positive performance and outcomes Demonstrates positive communication skills and behaviors that promote cooperation and team work with internal and external customers Mentors less experienced Nurse Managers, other RNs in expanded roles, and/or students Work Schedule:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. License:
Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. Experience:
Bachelors in Nursing, Masters in Nursing preferred Certification by ANCC in Nursing Administration and/or Critical Care, Med/Surg preferred History of excellent collaborative relationships with physicians and support services Excellent verbal and written communication skills Minimum of two years of recent progressive leadership experience such as Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager is preferred Minimum of five years of recent nursing Critical Care/Step Down experience as a Registered Nurse Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated team building and problem solving skills Experience in coordinating the daily flow of community care processes and visionary in interdisciplinary program planning History of successful implementation of change within a health care system Reference:

Direct patient care work involves considerable walking and standing (up to 12 hours/day), pushing, pulling, bending, and heavy lifting (45 pounds and over). The incumbent accepts assignment on any tour of duty and in whatever area services are required. In-direct patient care work is mostly sedentary. Typically the employee sits comfortably to complete the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items such as patient records and supplies

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
