The primary responsibilities of the Office Automation Assistant includes the administration of the Engineering Work Order System, PMI schedules, key control and other various clerical assignments detailed below:
Duties Include:
Processes work order requests Accurately enters requests into Automated Engineering Management System and generates reports Receives and process inquires on the status of work requests, resolve requests that are unclear or incomplete Answers telephone calls, determines the nature of the call and process appropriately Types a variety of material; i.e. reports, meeting minutes, memorandums Produces correspondence and reports Work Schedule:

Typing Requirement. This occupation contains Office Automation assignment. In order to hold an Office Automation title, you must possess and self certify a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute. After meeting the typing requirement, applicants may then qualify based on experience and/or education as described below:

Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-04) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Experience in office administration, good organizational, planning and record keeping skills, answering phones, screening telephone calls Computer proficiency, particularly in MS Word, Excel, data entry Excellent communication skills both written and oral communication skills and customer interface Knowledge of grammar and composition to produce correspondence from a variety of sources Education:
Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years above high school. OR Combination:
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education beyond 2 years above high school. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

Physical Requirements:
The work is primarily sedentary. The employee must be able to move around the office, walk to other offices throughout the medical center carrying light objects such as correspondence, supplies, etc. Standing, bending, and stooping is required when filing.
