Job Description:

However, educating tomorrow's leaders is not the only task occupying our over 800 faculty.

The Academic Assistant III in the William and Grace Dial Center for Written and Oral Communication will work closely with the Center Director, Associate Director, and CLAS Shared Services Center (SSC).
The William and Grace Dial Center currently houses 9 full-time and 3 adjunct faculty along with 20
graduate assistants who teach our Intro to Public Speaking course and a variety of undergraduate courses for the Communication Studies minor.
Additionally, the William and Grace Dial Center is home to the UF Speech & Debate Team, a co-curricular activity with a high level of participation from a group of 50
students who travel to compete against other teams across the state and nation and offer public debate events on campus.
The Academic Assistant III will help advance the William and Grace Dial Center's mission and support our team of dedicated faculty, teaching staff, and students.
This position will manage all Center program-related activities, as well as provide assistance to faculty, and serve as the sole support staff to the Center.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Human ResourcesResponsible for faculty/graduate assistant appointments and on-boarding:
prepares letters of appointment; coordinates processing of human resources documents and data; supports search committees arranging for travel and interviews of candidates; submits tuition waivers; submits terminations.

Responsible for review of pay lists to ensure all employees are paid correctly and that no under- or over-payments occur.
Academic Program and Curriculum ManagementSchedules Center courses; responsible for assisting students registering for classes, manages distance learning courses (fees, scheduling, tracking); assigns/authorizes instructors and graders; responsible for entering grades on-time in Grade-a-Gator for independent study/research courses; completes Academic Activity Reports; coordinates student/teacher evaluations;; notifies teaching staff about grading procedures, textbook deadlines/ordering process, and academic deadlines;; coordinates and maintains the following Center instructional activities:
drop/add of courses; grade change and incomplete grade contracts; tracks enrollment of center courses prior to and during each semester.
FiscalCompletes monthly reconciliation; prepares budgets/C&I reports; attends budget meetings with Director, SSC, and CLAS; performs P-card reconciliation/aging report; orders supplies; monitors M&S fee reports; processes invoices and vouchers; manages travel for faculty and visitors.
Administrative Duties:
Serves as public contact for the Center; greets visitors, students, and faculty; answers phone, email, in-person inquiries.
Responsible for preparing and submitting faculty administrative reports such as Faculty Assignment Reports, Effort Reporting, and promotion in the OPT system.
Update and maintain department space allocation using the online Space Inventory System.
; schedules department-controlled rooms; serves as contact with CLASNET, work management, DRC, and registrar's office; maintains office supply/equipment inventory; oversees copier maintenance; serves as key custodian; maintains and updates Center website; assist in the development and updates of promotional materials for Center brochures, flyers, event posters, and advertising; prepares and forwards travel verification for speech and debate students; attends CLAS office managers meeting each semester.
Expected Salary:
The salary is $16.
00 - $18.
00 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
