Director of Nursing/Executive DirectorSUMMARYProvides residents with nursing services and administers medications and treatment in accordance with physicians' orders within state licensure regulations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
1.
Assists in maintaining a physical, social and psychological environment in the best interests of residents.
2.
Monitors residents within state licensure regulations; may supervise and direct resident assistants where allowed by state licensure regulations.
3.
Assists in writing service plans based on resident needs.
4.
Obtains and administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician.
Documents and reviews medication and treatment sheets for accuracy and compliance with physician orders, professional standards, federal and state regulations and company policy.
5.
Monitors responses to treatment plans.
Possesses knowledge of medication interactions and notifies Resident Care Coordinator/Health Care Coordinator of any occurrences.
6.
Counts controlled substances with off going nurse or resident assistant; secures and corrects reconciliation of controlled substances during shift.
7.
Assures cleanliness and organization of medicine supply room and security of discontinued medicine in accordance with federal and state regulations and company policy.
8.
Assists with discharge process relevant to medication/treatment orders.
9.
Possesses knowledge of OSHA regulations and infection control standards.
Follows policies and procedures to ensure resident safety.
Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers.

QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience preferred and/or training in direct service with older adults, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
In accordance with state law, may need to possess current state certification and follow regulations to maintain license currency.
Knowledge of dementia particularly of the Alzheimer's type is helpful.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to residents, residents' families, and other employees of the company.
Ability to effectively communicate in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSBasic CPR/First aid trainingFire safety trainingCurrent nurse (RN/LPN) licensure issued by appropriate state licensing agency.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
